Project Manager (O&M Production Support)

The Project Manager (O&M Production Support) at Cherokee Nation Solutions Link (CNSL) plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and support of production environments. With extensive experience in production monitoring, automation, and leading-edge management, the Project Manager provides technical guidance, coordinates support activities, and drives continuous improvement efforts.

  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for Project Manager: Pay commensurate with experience.

Project Manager Responsibilities Include:

  • Understand the operating model and work closely with delivery partners to ensure a program view of all features and their impact on the application.
  • Operate production support between tier-1 (IT Operations Center), tier-2 (Production Support), and tier-3 (Development Team).
  • Research and implement tools and software solutions to automate production support, monitoring, and system recovery processes.
  • Identify problems and propose forward solutions utilizing modern technology standards.
    • Experience with monitoring tools specific to OpenShift, Kubernetes, ISTIO, and RHEL7+ Virtual Machines.
  • Develop dashboards for executive, senior management, and technical team levels utilizing available tools.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor project activities, including data calls, project metrics, and project management plans.
  • Collaborate with federated delivery teams to develop appropriate stories for feature hardening and monitoring.
  • Conduct project status meetings with stakeholders and support Release Manager in executing and completing Deployment Site Readiness Test (DSRT) Plan for Production Environment.
  • Provide input and recommendations to update and maintain DSRT playbook and Product Launch Go/No-Go Readiness Assessment Checklist.
  • Assist in tracking checklist completion and provide recommendations for refining product readiness assessment activities.Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Project Manager Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • An Active Public Trust or the ability to obtain one is required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in production monitoring, automation, and production support.
  • Proficiency in production monitoring tools such as AppDynamics or similar.
  • Experience with logging aggregator and analyzer tools like Splunk, Elk, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with container environments such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS EKS, and associated monitoring tools like Kiali, Prometheus, Jaeger, Grafana, etc.Preferred Experience:
  • Knowledge of OpenShift, AWS EKS, Kubernetes, and Service Mesh (ISTIO).
  • Familiarity with Splunk and general knowledge of Spring Boot.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent technical acumen with proficiency in production monitoring tools and container environments.
  • Experience in coordinating support activities and providing technical guidance to project teams.
  • Ability to identify and automate manual production support tasks and processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proactive attitude towards identifying and addressing system enhancements and automation opportunities.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
