BigBear.ai is seeking a Director of Strategic Communications to lead our external and internal communications efforts across all branches of the company.

This is a critical and high-visibility leadership role within Bigbear.ai. You will be charged with shaping the way we position our highly multidimensional and complex business to all audiences, including customers, investors, media outlets, regulators, and our own teams.

This position is fully remote.

• Develop and implemenent comprehensive communication strategies that enhance our visibility and reputation across all of our target sectors, including highly regulated enviornments.
• Lead the communications team in crafting messaging that supports the company's strategic objectives and brand, ensuring consistency across all platforms.
• Manage all aspects of media relations, public relations, and corporate communications.
• Oversee the preparation and dissemination of financial reporting and disclosures in compliance with SEC and other regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate internal communications to foster employee engagement and ensure alignment with company goals.
• Serve as a key spokesperson and media contact for the company, handling all media inquiries and public statements.
• Advise senior management on communication strategies and potential public impacts of business decisions.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust plans as needed to maintain company standards and adapt to changing environments.

• 8+ years of strategic communications experience, with 4+ years in leadership roles within public companies. A mix of agency and in-house experience is preferred.
• Bachelors required / MBA preferred
• Proven track record of developing and executing comprehensive strategic communications plans in a public company setting, including expertise with SEC communications requirements.
• Exceptional leadership skills, including the ability to manage multiple agency and consultant relationships.
• Strong understanding of the media landscape and demonstrated success in media relations, including those that serve the national security community.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to craft clear and compelling messages.
• Exceptional organizational prowess, marked by a track record of creating internal processes to systematize and streamline communications.
• Familiarity with the defense sector and ability to handle communications on sensitive national security matters is highly desirable.

• Experience in crisis communications and risk management.

• Familiarity with Content / Growth Marketing.
• Familiarity with the Artifical Intelligence landscape.
