Overview

TRC is seeking a Multimedia Environmental Scientist to support our growing team in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will be highly motivated to work with clients and TRC staff to understand project needs and deliver services to meet those requirements. The ideal candidate is not required to have thorough experience with all medias, but will have significant environmental experience related to air, water, and/or waste and is eager to learn new programs. Strong references required.


Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

  • Conduct waste characterizations on Industrial and Hazardous Wastes.
  • Write environmental procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of new, renewal, and amendment permit applications for industrial facilities.
  • Assist in the preparation of compliance plans such SWPPP, P2, RCRA Contingency, FRP and SPCC.
  • Deconstruct air, water, and waste permit requirements into Environmental Management Systems.
  • Provide training to clients.
  • Interpret analytical data.
  • Prepare reports such as Annual Waste Summaries, P2 APRs, Tier II, and DMRs.
  • Conduct compliance audits at industrial facilities.
  • Provide onsite Environmental Compliance Support for air, water, and waste programs.

In accordance with employment laws, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $50,000 to $85,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, Environmental Sciences, or related degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Environmental Permitting and/or Compliance.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to develop a positive relationship with our clients and employees.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Eager to learn and participate in cross media projects.
